Taking insurance is a complex decision for each therapist. By signing contracts with insurance we are agreeing to their terms, which often do not serve the best interests of our clients or ourselves.  As we want to provide you with personalized care, protect your privacy, and avoid conflicts with insurance companies’ requirements for treatment that are designed for their own interests, we are not in-network for any insurance plans. 

We have worked with insurance companies in the past and found that often they operate from a “one size fits all” viewpoint that does not allow a therapist and client to decide what the client needs. We have a commitment to providing our clients with the best possible care, tailored to each person individually, and being private pay allows us to do that.

We do provide Superbills that you can submit for potential reimbursement from your insurance company, if out of network benefits are part of your plan. You would first need to confirm with your insurance company whether you have out of network benefits and what that includes.

All of this said, we understand that some people cannot afford services without using their insurance.  I have established a small group practice, A Space for Healing  with highly skilled clinicians who do accept insurance.
